management services.

Requirements:
• An appropriate 3 year tertiary qualification (or
equivalent qualification) in Financial Management;
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a
Financial Management environment.
Job Specification...
Recommendation:
• Experience in the following:
o Loss Control System;
o Evaluation and validation of loss control case
files;
o Validation and rectification processes pertaining
to loss control incidents;
o Development, maintenance of the Departmental
Fraud Prevention Plan inclusive of the Fraud
Prevention Policy.
Key performance areas:
• Ensure an integrated loss control system is kept;
• Manage all claims against or for the department;
• Ensure the recording and reporting of loss or
damage suffered by the department;
• Ensuring the monitoring and liaising with various
role players (SAPS, State Attorney);
• Oversee the recovery of the value of the loss or
damage from the person/ institute responsible;
• Ensure the maintenance of the Departmental
Fraud Prevention Plan, inclusive of the fraud
prevention policy, control strategies and
implementation plan.
Competencies:
• Knowledge of the following;
o Public Finance Management Act;
o National Treasury Regulations;
o Provincial Treasury Instructions;
o Fraud and Loss Control frameworks;
• Excellent communication (written and verbal)
skills in at least two of the official languages of
the Western Cape Province;
• Proven computer literacy (Ms Office);
• Report writing and presentation skills;
• Ability to analyse, conceptualise and implement
policy.
