Main Role:
The role and responsibility of the Architect requires
the knowledge and skills that are both broad and
deep.
The Architect must have experience on multiple
Hardware and Software Environments and be
comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems
environments.
The Architect is often a highly seasoned senior who
has led multiple projects through the Software
development process or Systems Development Life
Cycle (SDLC), and has usually performed in a variety
of different roles in that life cycle.
The person needs an ability to share and communicate
ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to executive
staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in
clear concise language that is the parlance of each
group.
The Architect is responsible for the development of
the overall vision that underlies the projected solution
and transforms that vision through execution into the
solution.
The Architect becomes involved with a project at the
time of inception and in developing the initial
requirements. They then remain involved throughout
the balance of the project. They are an expert in
many categories. They should have hands-on
experience in multiple industries and across several
disciplines. They work very closely with the team to
ensure proper implementation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide overall technical leadership for end-to-end
BSS/OSS enterprise architecture solutions, including
integration with partner/third party components
Prime technical leader of all technical aspects of the
solution architecture, defines components for design
and development and identifies skills/resources
required to develop:
Ensure compliance to principles of quality assurance
Follow and promote the agreed Best Practices and
their supporting documentation
Act as a trusted advisor for the customer for design
considerations
Proactively prevents and resolves technical issues to
avoid escalation
Ensure technical viability of solutions as defined in
the Statement of Work and subsequent change
requests
Provide leadership of the project technical teams
through the design, build, test, and delivery process.
Coach and mentor others to build on products and
industry knowledge
Review and approve estimates for technical tasks as
developed by other team members
As SME, assists with significant sales opportunities
Provide feedback to the product development
organization for improvements, market trends, and
product issues
Assist and guide the customer in developing
requirements
Provide technical task identification; work estimates
and skills required to assist other Architects, the PM
and RM with task scheduling and resource requests
Support the Agile teams to keep deliverables on
target and on time
Assist with technical customer interactions from kick
off through to SIT & UAT
Take ownership of a particular solution offering
Develop and execute a solution strategy and business
plan that support product growth if and when
required
Shape, design, and plan specific service lines in
product area
Assist staffing coordinators who define project team
requirements for projects in solution area
Mentor and guide more junior architects, business
consultants and technical resources
