Job purpose:

assets, cash and liabilities accounting system.

Requirements:
• An appropriate recognized Degree/National
Diploma (or equivalent qualification) in Commerce;
• A minimum of 3 years management experience in
a financial accounting environment;
• A valid drivers' license (Code EB).
Job Specification...
Recommendation:
• Experience in Financial Accounting field.
Key performance areas:
• Accounting and reporting from trial balance to
balance sheet;
• Cash flow management of the Department;
• Responsible for the reconciliation and
management of the Departmental Bank Account;
• Regularity, policy, governance framework and
tactical advise;
• Coordinate, evaluate and prepare inputs to
oversight bodies, committees and forums;
• Manage human resource of sub-directorate to
achieve the pre-determined performance
indicators and service delivery imperatives;
• Operational Management inclusive of:
o Financial Resource Management;
o Service Delivery Management;
o Information Management;
o Compliance Management;
o Project Management;
o Performance Management.
Competencies:
• Knowledge of the following:
o The relevant policies, prescripts and legislation;
o Financial legislation;
o GRAP (General Recognised Accounting Practices)
and ability to interpret and apply applicable
policies, legislation, guidelines, standards,
procedures and best practices;
o Project Management principles and application;
o People Management, Financial Management;
• Good communication (written and verbal) skills in
at least two of the official languages of the
Western Cape;
• Advanced computer literacy specifically in Excel;
• Report writing, formulation and analytical skills in
respect of financial accounting;
• Presentation and reporting skills.
