Minimum Requirements...
Requirements:
• Appropriate Trade Test Certificate;
• A minimum of 5 years post qualification
experience as an Artisan;
• A valid driver's licence (code EB).
Job Specification...
Recommendations:
• Mathematical abilities;
• Experience on guillotine and bending machine;
• Able to read road designs and reports;
• Experience in MIG, Argon Arc, Aluminium, CO2,
Brazing and cutting, gouging and plasma cutting;
• Experience in all types of metals.
Key performance areas:
• Administrative duties like complete daily log
sheets/ requisitions/ request quotations/ evaluate
welding equipment levels/ supervision;
• Interpretation of condition report discussions and
writing skills;
• Handle all typical welding work;
• Remove and strip components for repair;
• Training to apprentices and co-workers.
Competencies:
• Knowledge of the following:
o Construction Plant machinery and equipment with
regards to repair and maintenance needs;
o Health and Safety Act;
o Vehicles, construction plant and equipment;
o Read designs and report writing;
o Metals;
• Excellent communication ( written and verbal)
skills in at least two of the official languages of
the Western Cape;
• Proven computer literacy in MS Office;
• Organisational skills.
